Edna Mae Chamberlin

MISHAWAKA - Edna Mae Chamberlin, 77, passed away in her winter home in New Port Richey, FL, at 11:47 a.m. Thursday, February 22. Edna was born on November 16, 1929, in Dowagiac, Michigan, as the daughter of Michael and Mary (Luska) Sarabyn.

 

On September 13, 1952, in St. Patrick Catholic Cathedral in South Bend as the former Edna Sarabyn she married Donald P. Chamberlin, who survives. Also surviving are her two brothers, James (Patricia) Sarabyn of South Bend and Andrew (Lisa) Sarabyn of Anaheim, CA; four brothers-in-law, Ray Chamberlin, Bruce Chamberlin, Warren Chamberlin, all of Mishawaka and Tom Chamberlin of South Bend; four sisters-in-law, Sara Richardson of Edwardsburg, Frances Van Vynckt of Hammond IN, Ruth Hinton of Chicago and Alice Bailey of Grand Rapids, MI, and several nieces and nephews.

 

Edna worked for F&S Trucking in the payroll department from 1952 to 1970. She then was a Trust Officer for National Bank in South Bend for eight years retiring in 1979. She was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Mishawaka, a member of the Rosary Society of St. Monica, Mishawaka and a member of St. James Apostle Catholic Church in Florida.

 

Visitation will be Monday, February 26, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:30 p.m., in Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W.8th Street, Mishawaka. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, February 27, in Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Mishawaka, with Rev. Richard Hire officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka. Memorial contributions in memory of Edna may be made to the charity of one's choice.
