Jeannette A. Chambers

March 31, 1900 - Aug. 9, 2001

Jeannette A. Chambers, 101, residing on Lincoln Way West, Osceola, Ind., passed away peacefully at 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 9, in her home.

Mrs. Chambers was born March 31, 1900, in Rising Sun, Ind., as the daughter of Frank L. and Laura (Vosburg) Pink, and had lived in this community most of her life. On Dec. 21, 1918, in South Bend, Ind., she married Floyd Chambers, who died on May 27, 1974. She was also preceded in death by her two daughters, Leona V. Collier on Jan. 31, 1974, and Alberta Eutzler on March 12, 2000.

Mrs. Chambers is survived by four grandchildren, Robert (Sharon) Batten of South Bend, Suzanne Tobey of Biloxi, Miss., James (Jerry Lee) Batten of Osceola and David Batten of South Bend; seven great-grandchildren, Raymond Batten, Darin Batten, Sherri Batten, Craig Batten, Dawn Batten, Stephen Tobey and Kelly Kechter; and by four great-great-grandchildren.

She was a former employee of South Bend Toy and Ball Band in Mishawaka, Ind. Although Jeannette was small she was a feisty lady. She was a very loving and caring person. Her family was her life. She will be greatly missed.

Private burial will take place at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, Ind. There will be no services or visitation.

Funeral arrangements are being made by the the Palmer Funeral Home, 1109 Lincoln Way West, Osceola.
