Robert Donald Chandonia

SOUTH BEND - Robert Donald Chandonia, 76, of Henderson, Nevada, formerly of South Bend, Indiana, passed away of natural causes in the Henderson Health Care Center on Friday, October 17, 2008 Robert was born February 12, 1932, in South Bend, Indiana, to the late Charles and Helen (Krizmanich) Chandonia. On September 6, 1958, Robert married the former Ms. Rosemary Darrigan. They celebrated 50 years of marriage before his passing. Robert is survived by his wife, Rosemary of Henderson, Nevada; two sons, Robert M. Chandonia of Bradenton, Florida, and Craig Chandonia of South Bend; as well as two daughters, Sandra Hanks of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Michelle (Doug) Young of South Bend. Robert is also survived by his brother, Charles Chandonia of Lewisville, Texas; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his brother, Arthur Chandonia.

 

Visitation will be held from noon-1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 25, 2008, in Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola, Indiana. Rev. Larry Sonnenberg will officiate the 1:00 p.m. funeral service on Saturday, October 25th, with interment to follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola. Robert served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. After his honorable discharge, Robert spent over 30 years working for Krizman Manufacturing as a product designer, retiring in the mid-1990s. He and his wife have lived in Nevada for the past 10 years. In his spare time, Robert enjoyed working with his computer.
