SOUTH BEND - Joanne Marie Chaney, 62, of 52804 Forestbrook
Ave., died at 8:30 a.m. Monday, October 6, in her home. She was
born on June 19, 1946, in South Bend, to the late Leo Robert and
Rosemary A. (Wesolek) Bell. She was also preceded
in death by daughters, Patricia J. Chaney and Elizabeth C.
Chaney; and by a son, Daniel D. Chaney. Joanne was a housewife,
enjoyed crafting, art and designing jewelry, and had won several
painting contests. On November 2, 1963, in South Bend, she
married Elmer Dale Chaney, who survives. Also surviving are
daughters, Tammy L. (Brian) Ramsbey of Walkerton, Sheila
M. (Robert) Stanage and Kristen R. Chaney, both of South
Bend, and Angela D. Chaney of Mishawaka; grandchildren, Daniel A.
Schieber, Joshua D. Schieber, Michael A. Schieber,
Alexander D. Ramsbey and Christopher (CJ) Ramsbey.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 10, in Forestbrook Missionary Church, 52505 Forestbrook, South Bend, with Rev. J. Ronald Drake of Missionary Church and Casmier Wesolek (Joanne's uncle) who will also share in the service. Elkhart Cremation Services is assisting the family with arrangements, and is where cremation will take place. Memorials may be made to The Center for Hospice & Palliative Care or to Forestbrook Missionary Church.
