GRANGER - Claire M. Chevrie, 59, of 13690 Anderson Road, died at 12:27 p.m. Thursday at St. Joseph's Medical Center, South Bend, following an auto accident at Indiana 23 and Elm Road. Dr. J.E. McMeel, county coroner, said she died of massive chest injuries. Mrs. Chevrie was a caterer with Camp Bellowood Catering, Union, for the past four years. She was born Oct. 29, 1934, in Jonesboro, Ind., and lived most of her life in the South Bend area.

In August 1953, in South Bend, she married Kenneth D. Chevrie Sr. He survives, with two daughters, Cherrene C. Drury of Mishawaka and Cynthia C. Cartwright of Granger; a son, Kenneth D. Jr. of Anoka, Minn.; seven grandchildren; and two sisters, Charlotte Shroyer of Mesa, Ariz., and Carolyn Hunter of South Bend.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Chapel Hill Funeral Home, Osceola. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.
