Sister Gabrielle Marie Christianson CSC, 75, died at 8:35 p.m. Monday is St. Mary’s Convent, Notre Dame. She was born Nov. 21, 1903 in Mishawaka.

As Louise Johanna Christionson she entered the Congregation of Sister  of the Holy Cross at St. Mary’s on July 5, 1925. She was received as a novice on Aug. 15, 1925 and took vows of profession on Aug. 15, 1926. Sister Gabrielle Marie spent most of her community life as a elementary and secondary teacher serving schools in Illinois, Indiana, Virginia and in Washington DC. She also spent nine years at the St. Maria Goretti School in Fort Portal, Uganda. In 1978 Sister Gabrielle Marie retired to St. Mary’s Convent.

Surviving are three brothers, Robert Christianson of Mishawaka, James Christianson of Birmingham, Mich. And Carl Christianson of Alexandria, Va. and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in Our Lady of Loretto Church, St. Mary’s. Burial will be in the Queen of Peace Cemetery. Friends may call in the St. Mary’s Convent Parlors.
