Sister Mary Rebecca CSC, 76, of the Sisters of the Holy Cross, died in St. Joseph Hospital Saturday at 4:50 p.m. She was born Hedwige Chrzan in South Bend in 1893. She received the habit in 1910. She was stationed in Morris, Ill.; Fort Wayne; and at Notre Dame during her community life. For many years she was on duty at St. Mary’s College and retired to Saint Mary’s Convent last year.

Mass will be offered at 4 p.m. Monday in the Church of Our Lady of Loretto on the St. Mary’s campus. Burial will be in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery on the campus. Friends may call at the convent parlor today and Monday.
