James A. Chudzicki: (South Bend Tribune 4/3/1997)

Nov. 28, 1941-April 1, 1997 James Anthony “Chud” Chudzicki, 55, of Monte Vista Drive in Granger, Ind., died after an extended illness with his family and friends at home at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, April 1, 1997. He was born in South Bend, Ind., on Nov. 28, 1941. He married Delores Tomaszewski of South Bend on Oct. 6, 1962, in Lakeville, Ind. Jim retired from Allied Signal after 30 years, but still maintained his position as co-owner of Hi-Rev Racing Engines in Granger. In addition, he was the crew chief of the Hi-Rev Racing drag racing team. Jim was also a member of the NAWCC (National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors) organization. Jim is survived by his wife Dolores; their three daughters, Sherry Marietta of Mishawaka, Ind., Brenda Gaugler and Laura Chudzicki, both of Granger; his two sons-in-law, Tont Marietta and James Gaugler (Junior); and his two grandchildren, Lance and Cara Marietta; a sister, Sharon Bratton of Granger; five brothers, Bert, Joseph, Lawrence, Dennis and Randy, all of South Bend; 28 nieces and nephews; and by seven great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bert and Verna Chudzicki; by a brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Pat Chudzicki; and by a nephew, Stephen Chudzicki. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Hickey Funeral Home, 17131 Cleveland Road. A parish Rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. this evening. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday in St. Pius X Church, Granger.
