Frances Chwalek

Mrs. Frances
Chwalek, 76, of 713 S. Kaley St., died at 12:40am today in Memorial
Hospital after an extended illness.
She was born March
12, 1893 at Poznan, Poland, and came to South Bend 67 years ago
from there. In 1946 she was married to Michael Chwalek in South
Bend. He survives with two sons, John and Stanley
Dzialakiewicz; a daughter, Mrs. Hattie Fye; three stepsons,
Stanley, Joseph and Edward Chwalek; four stepdaughters, Mrs.
Sophie Martynowicz, Mrs, Katherine Rapela, Mrs. Carrie
Martynowicz and Mrs. Jean Rozewicz; 24 grandchildren; and 18
great grandchildren, all of South Bend.
Friends may call form 7 to 9pm today and 10am to 9pm Friday at
the St Joseph Funeral Home. Services will be held at 9am
Saturday in St Adalbert’s Catholic Church, with Rev. John
Moskal, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in St Joseph Cemetery.
Mrs. Chwalek was a member of the Polish National Alliance 1437.
A parish rosary will be recited at 7:30pm today in the funeral
home.
