Prima Ciavatta

MISHAWAKA – Mrs. Prima Ciavatta, 75, of 2026 Milburn Blvd. died Sunday afternoon in Melrose Manot Nursing Home, after an illness of eight months. Born in Rimini, Italy on Sept. 22, 1899, she had lived in Mishawaka since 1916 after coming from Italy.

 

As Prima Canarricci, she was married to Frank Ciavatta on Feb. 2, 1918 in Mishawaka. He survives, along with four daughters, Mrs. Adeline Rice of Mishawaka; Mrs. Charles VanOoteghem of South Bend; Mrs. Robert Sipress of Michigan City; and Mrs. Richard Decker of Lansing, Mich; 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

 

Friends may call from 7 yo 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Home. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Bavo’s Catholic Church and burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
