Victoria Cichocki

Victoria Cichocki, 102, of St. Paul's Retirement Community, passed away at 2:05 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 29, in the Holy Cross Care and Rehabilitation Center. Mrs. Cichocki was born on Sept. 24, 1898, in North Hampton, Mass. She retired from the former Studebaker Corporation.

 

As Victoria Grochowski, she married John Cichocki, who died in 1940. She is survived by a daughter, Mary Jane Bahrke of South Bend, Ind.; a son, Robert (Barbara) Cichocki of Granger, Ind.; five grandchildren, Don Ciesiolka, Elaine Foster, Jan Lekarczyk, Kevin Kolber and Kim Cichocki; nine great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; and by a sister, Mary Herman of Bronson, Mich. She was also preceded in death by a daughter and son-in-law, Lillian and Harry Ciesiolka; and by two grandsons, Brian Cichocki and Mark Kolber.

 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. today, Feb. 1, in St. Adalbert Church. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends called from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 31, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, where a parish Rosary was prayed at 7 p.m., and may call for one hour prior to services today in St. Adalbert Church. Mrs. Cichocki was a member of St. Adalbert Church Parish and Harvest House. She was also a member of the Hoosier Grandmothers Club. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in the name of Victoria Cichocki to St. Paul's Retirement Community Congregate Care, 3602 S. Ironwood Drive, South Bend, IN 46614.
