Mary L. Claeys

Feb. 24, 1910 -- March 2, 2005

Mary L. Claeys, 95, of South Bend Avenue, South Bend, Ind., passed away at 9:25 p.m. Wednesday, March 2, 2005, in Countryside Place, Mishawaka, Ind.

Mary was born on February 24, 1910, in Dekalb County, Ind., to the late Fonce and Christine (Koble) Olivet. She retired from the former Wilson Brothers of South Bend. "Nan," as we affectionately called her, was a loving mother and grandmother who devoted her life to caring for her family. Nan loved to cook, and always had a kind word for everyone she met. We will miss her great family stories.

She is survived by a daughter, Mary (Louis) Seago of South Bend, IN; two grandsons, Louis (Janice) Seago III and Michael Seago; three great-grandchildren, L. Christopher (Mary Kathryn) Seago, Matthew James (Molly) Seago and Julie (Aaron) Shaw; and two great-great-grandchildren, Mary Grace Seago and Connor Louis Seago.

Friends may call today from 3 to 8 p.m. in the McGann Funeral Home, 2313 E. Edison Road, South Bend, where a Rosary will be said at 4 p.m. Funeral services will be on Saturday, March 5, at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph Catholic Church, 211 N. Saint Louis St., South Bend. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola, Ind.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Building Fund of St. Joseph Catholic Church, 211 N. Saint Louis St., South Bend, IN 46617.
