Elsie A. Clark

SOUTH BEND - Elsie A. (Bonnell) Clark, 74, of 59274 Hollywood Blvd., died at 8:51 a.m. Saturday in St. Joseph Hospital, Mishawaka, after an illness. Mrs. Clark retired in 1982 from Whitehall Manufacturing after 20 years of service as a seamstress. She was born Sept. 13, 1919, in Pulaski County and was a lifelong area resident.

 

On Nov. 21, 1936, in Winamac, as Elsie Hamilton, she married Kenneth Bonnell. He died July 28, 1964. On April 17, 1974, in Mishawaka, she married Hugh Clark. He survives with three daughters, Barbara Sipe of Elkhart, Virginia Wise of Mishawaka, and Shirley LaCroix of Chapel Hill, Tenn.; two sons, Larry Bonnell of St. Charles, Ill., and Gary Bonnell of Roscoe, Ill.; three stepdaughters, Ruth Barton of Florida, Goldie Martin of Brewstertown, Tenn., and Pat Clark of South Bend; two stepsons, Paul Clark and Robert Clark, both of South Bend; 29 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Darlene Fisher of Winamac. She was a member of Willow Creek United Church, Mishawaka.

 

Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 N. Main St., Mishawaka. Burial will be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger. Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association.
