Janis I. Clark

Janis I. Clark, 85, of Parkview Place, South Bend, passed away on Monday, April 18th, at Hospice House. She was born on February 27, 1920, in Dowagiac, Michigan, to the late Rex and Lois (Shiverton) Bradfield.

 

On August 29, 1942, in Crown Point, Ind., she married Warren G. "Whitey" Clark, who preceded her in death. Janis was also preceded in death by her daughter, Jerrianne Veatch; two great-grandchildren, Shawn Bagarus and Leilan Carpenter; and a brother, Dalton "Bud" Bradfield. She is survived by a son, Scott (Janice) Clark; three grandchildren, Courtney (Dave) Gersey, Katie Clark and Ian Clark; five great-grandchildren, Trenton and Bailey Gersey, Hayley Clark, and Taylor and Donovan Carpenter, all of South Bend; four step-grandchildren, Heather (Garland) Hudson of Fort Wayne, Bryan Clark of South Bend, Jeff (Karen) Veatch of Walkerton and Shelly Bender of Elkhart; three step-great-grandchildren, Braydon Hudson of Fort Wayne, Lauren Veatch and Heidi Bjoraas of Elkhart; and a step-great-granddaughter, Makenzie Anderson, also of Elkhart.

 

Funeral services for Janis will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 22nd, in Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. William St., South Bend. Friends may call from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 21, and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services on Friday in the funeral home. Entombment will follow the services at Riverview Cemetery.
