NORTH LIBERTY - Richard E. Clark, 84, of 805 State Street, North Liberty, Ind., passed away after a short illness at 10:45 a.m. on Thursday, July 9th, at Walkerton Miller's Merry Manor. He was a former school bus driver for the South Bend Community School Corporation and operated a service station in North Liberty for many years. He was born on Nov. 5, 1913, in North Liberty, and lived here a lifetime.

 

He was married on June 23, 1943, in Missouri, to H. Patricia Gorny, who preceded him in death on July 10, 1995. He is survived by four daughters, Phyllis Snyder and Carol Albright, both of North Liberty, Mary E. Hatch of Carmel, Ind., and Linda Ritchie of Silver Lake, Ind; a son, Dennis of Indianapolis, Ind.; a brother, Eldon of North Liberty; and by 11 grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

 

Mr. Clark was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army Air Corps, and was a past commander of American Legion Post 365.

 

Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 13, at the A.M. Manuel Funeral Home in North Liberty. Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be after 4 p.m. on Sunday in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Helping Hand Fund in care of the Church of the Brethren.
