SOUTH BEND - Our beloved, Marilyn Elizabeth Clauser, 73, went to be with
our Lord on Tuesday evening, August 7, surrounded by her family. She was
born in Chicago, IL, on November 1, 1933, to Alice A. (Bragg) and Amon
L. Loy Sr. The family moved to South Bend where Marilyn later graduated
from Central High School. She attended St. Mary's College. On January
17, 1953, Marilyn married Richard M. Clauser at Central Evangelical
United Brethren Church, South Bend. Marilyn was an amazing wife, mother
and grandmother. She loved her family with great devotion. She was known
for her gracious heart and supportive attitude. She loved to read and
work crossword puzzles. Her sharp wit and quick answers made her an ace
at the TV game shows she enjoyed watching. Marilyn loved to go out to
eat and to travel. She and Richard made many trips to Florida and Myrtle
Beach. They had traveled out West, to Mexico, and also to Rome. Most
recently they visited their granddaughter in New Orleans. Marilyn
invested 22 years in her career at First Source Bank where she received
many awards and excelled to the position of asst. branch manager of the
Portage Branch. Marilyn is survived by her husband, Richard; daughters,
Joyce Ann (David) Szucs of South Bend and Sandra (Ken) Culp of Spencer,
IN; and son, Jeffrey (Kris) Clauser of Leo, IN. She was blessed with
four wonderful grandchildren, Christine Bednarek of South Bend, Jennifer
Mioc of Redlands, CA, and Katie and Matthew Clauser of Leo, IN. Marilyn
is also survived by a sister, Barbara (Michael) Butler of South Bend;
and three brothers, Robert (Nancy) Loy of Granger, Martin (Jill) Loy of
Coatesville, IN, and Amon (Susan) Loy of South Bend. Marilyn and Richard
cherished 54 years of marriage together. Her passing has left a deep
void in all our lives. She will be missed. We love you Mom. Family and
friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today in the Welsheimer Family Funeral
