MISHAWAKA - Guy D. Clewell, 79, passed away in the early
morning hours of Wednesday, December 17, 2008, in the Golden
Living Center, Mishawaka. Guy was born on September 16, 1929, in
Canton, IL, to Roy and Margaret (Grigsby) Clewell. He was
preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Ronald and John; and
sisters, Geraldine, Bernadine, Eleanor May and Martha. In 1952,
in Elkhart, Guy married Barbara Neely. In 1957, in
Mishawaka, he married Dorothy Whittington, who preceded
him in death in 1993. In March 1996 he married Ada Lorraine Carpenter,
who preceded him in death in April 2002. Surviving are his
daughters, Tina (Michael) Woods of Goshen and Linda
(James) Wenger of Orting, WA; stepson, Kenneth (Diana) Robbins
of Osceola; and a sister, Rosalie (Basil) Wooten of Fort
Smith, AR. Guy worked in lay-out work for Wheelabrator for 39
years, retiring in 1987. He was a veteran of the United States
Army, serving in the Military Police. He was a member of VFW Post
360, Mishawaka, and American Legion 161, Mishawaka.
Visitation will be in Hahn Funeral Home, Mishawaka, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 20th. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, with Rev. Scott Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola, with military rites by VFW 306/American Legion 161 Burial Team.
