Anna Mildred Clingenpeel

Anna Mildred Clingenpeel, 90, formerly of North Liberty, passed away at 10:30 p.m. Friday, March 31, in Miller's Merry Manor, New Carlisle, after an extended illness.

She retired from Easyheat in Lakeville in 1980 after 15 years of service.

 

She was born in North Liberty on Oct. 24, 1915, and was a lifetime resident.

 

She was married on April 25, 1936, to Robert D. Clingenpeel, who preceded her in death on Oct. 21, 2002, along with a daughter, Gloria Alice, in 1941.

 

Mrs. Clingenpeel was the daughter of Arthur and Nellie (Nitcher) Kane. She is survived by a daughter, Ruth (Jim) Looney of Elkhart; a son, Paul (Mary) of North Liberty; a sister, Lela Gibson of New Carlisle; and by seven grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

 

Mrs. Clingenpeel was a member of the Beaver Creek Wesleyan Church in North Liberty and was a Sunday school teacher. Services will be held in the church on Tuesday, April 4, at 11 a.m.

 

Burial will be at Eastlawn Cemetery in North Liberty. Visitation will be after 4 p.m. Monday in the A.M. Manuel Funeral Home in North Liberty, and one hour prior to the services in the church.
