WALKERTON - Lee D. Clingenpeel, 77, of 32493 Quinn Road, died at 4:10 p.m. Monday in St. Joseph's Medical Center, South Bend, after an illness. Mr. Clingenpeel retired as manager of North Liberty Grain & Feed Elevator and also was a farmer.

He was born Sept. 4, 1916, in Flora, Ind., and lived in Walkerton most of his life, coming from Etna Green. On Nov. 22, 1945, in Walkerton, he married Martha Marie Stull. She survives, with three daughters, Sharon Zukas of Plymouth, JoAnn Kowalski of Bremen and Janet Houser of North Liberty; a son, Ronald C. of North Liberty; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandson; two sisters, Marjorie Wolff of Union Mills and Maxine Schmeltz of Walkerton; and two brothers, Donald ``Mike'' and Howard, both of North Liberty.

He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2852, St. Joseph County Farm Bureau and Walkerton United Methodist Church, and was a veteran of World War II.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the church. Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery, North Liberty. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in Nusbaum-Elkins Funeral Home, and one hour before services on Thursday in the church. Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association or the church building fund.
