Selma Minnie Clingenpeel

Selma Minnie Clingenpeel, 88, of 30950 Leeper Road, North Liberty, Ind., passed away Nov. 2, 2003, in Memorial Hospital.

 

Selma was born Jan. 18, 1915, in Calvin, North Dakota, to the late Adolph Burmeister and Minnie (Dau) Burmeister. She was one of three children.

 

Selma was married to Howard W. Clingenpeel on Sept. 3, 1938, in Tracy, Indiana.

Howard passed away on March 22, 2003, after 64 years of marriage.

 

Selma is survived by a daughter, Bonnie Veitch of Green Bay, Wisconsin, and a son, Thomas L. of North Liberty. Also surviving are two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Hilda Danitschek of LaPorte, Ind.

 

Selma had lived most of her life in this area, coming from the Kingsbury area. She had been a housewife and a beauty operator.

 

She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in LaPorte, and the St. Joseph County Extension Club.

 

Visitation will be from 3 to 5 and 6 to 8 p.m. EST today in the Nusbaum-Elkin Funeral Home. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home, with Rev. David Young officiating.

 

The family requests that memorial contributions be made to St. John's Lutheran Church at LaPorte.
