Huey Coalmon

Nov. 29, 1943 - Dec. 17, 1996

Huey Coalmon, 53, of 118 S. Williams St., Madison Manor, died at 4:10 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 17, in Memorial Hospital, South Bend.

He was born in South Bend, Ind., to Thressia and Sylvester Coalmon, Sr. Both of his parents preceded him in death.

Mr. Coalmon attended Central High School in the 1960s, where he participated in its sports. Also, he was a noted scholar and artist at the Madison Manor, where he resided.

He leaves to cherish his memory, five sisters, Karen Coalmon-Stewart Griffin of Chicago, Ill., and her twin, Carol Coalmon-Stewart of Denver, Colo., Laverne Coalmon, Katherine Coalmon, and Irene King of South Bend; six brothers, John and James Coalmon of Manhattan, N.Y., Sylvester, Richard and Walter Coalmon, all of South Bend, and his younger brother, Dr. Perry Coalmon of Milwaukee, Wis. Also, his memory will be cherished by a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation hours are from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Clark Funeral Chapel.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 21, at New Horizon Out-Reach Ministry Church, and burial will follow at Highland Cemetery.
