Sister M. Anna Louise CSC, 85, of Saint Mary’s Convent died at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday in the convent after a lengthy illness. She was born on Feb. 4, 1896 in Malone, N.Y., and entered the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross as Gertrude Colburn, on Jan. 5, 1918, coming from Taftsville, Conn. She was received as a novice on Aug. 4, 1918, and made her profession of vows on Aug. 15, 1920. During her professional life she was assigned to various ancillary services in convent across the country, including Washington DC; Maryland; Ohio; Illinois; Utah; and California. She resided at St. Mary’s Convent since 1965.

 

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in the Church of Our Lady of Loretto at St. Mary’s with internment in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery on the campus. Friends may call in the convent parlors until services. A wake will be observed at 7 p.m. Thursday.
