Geneva Mae Collings
May 28, 1911 - March 21, 1999
SOUTH BEND - Geneva Mae Collings, 87, of West Michigan Street, New Carlisle, Ind., passed away on Sunday, March 21, in Miller's Merry Manor Nursing Center, New Carlisle.

 

Mrs. Collings was born on May 28, 1911, in Wabash County, and resided in the Michiana area her lifetime. Mrs. Collings retired in 1973 from Memorial Hospital of South Bend, Ind., as a ward clerk.

 

In 1972, in New Carlisle, she married Howard Collings, who preceded her in death in 1977.

 

She is survived by two sons, George of St. Augustine Beach,  Fla., and Jerry P. of Lakeville, Ind.; and by five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

 

Mrs. Collings was a member of the church, the New Carlisle Order of Eastern Star, was a member of War Mothers and the White Shrine-South Bend Chapter.

 

Visitation hours will be one hour prior to service time (noon to 1 p.m. ) on Tuesday, March 23, at the  Community church, 201 W. Michigan Street, New Carlisle.

 

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday in the Community Church, with Rev.  Michael Donahue officiating. Burial will follow at the New Carlisle Cemetery.

 

The family request that in lieu of flowers, all memorial contributions be made to the church or to the New Carlisle Masonic Temple.

 

The Hanley & son "Southwest Chapel" Fneral Home, located at West Ireland Road/Indiana 23 South Bend, handled services and extend heartfelt sympathy to the family of Geneva Collings.
