MRS. RUTH COLLINS

     Mrs. Ruth Collins, 76 of 1617 E. Fox, died at 8:45 a.m. today at Memorial Hospital. The Guisinger Colonial Chapel is handling arrangements.

MRS. RUTH M. COLLINS

COLLINS – Services for Mrs. Ruth M. Collins, 76, of 1617 E. Fox, who died at 8:45 a.m. Wednesday in Memorial Hospital, will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Guisinger Colonial Chapel. Rev. Ray Martin Jr., pastor of the Light and Life Chapel, will officiate. Burial will be in Southlawn Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. to noon Friday in the funeral home. Mrs. Collins, was a member of the Wesleyan Church. She is best remembered however, for her annual Christmas doll making as a fund-raiser for the Salvation Army. Each year she made and dressed many dolls for sale and gift-giving by the group. She was born on May 22, 1904, in Wabash. She had lived in South Bend since 1942 after coming from Wabash, where on January 21, 1922 she married Herman Collins. He died on August 12, 1974. She is survived by four sons, Carl R. of Niles, Kenneth E. Of Mishawaka and Paul and Harold L. both of South Bend; 17 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a brother William (Jack) Holmes of Wabash.
