MISHAWAKA - Barbara L. (Palmiter) Comegys, 67, of West Catalpa Drive, Mishawaka, Ind., died following an illness at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 18, at the Bridgewood Health Care and Rehabilitation Center, Elkhart, Ind. She was born in South Bend, Ind., on June 3, 1930.
She is survived by two sisters, Virginia (George) Cleppe and Bonnie (Ted) Williams, both of Mishawaka; five nieces, Barbara DeMetz, Heather Palmiter and Susan O'Connor, all of Mishawaka, Tracey Williams of Chicago, Ill., and Sydney Isley of California; four nephews, Lance Williams of Ann Arbor, Mich., Patrick Williams of Richmond, Va., Wade Neiswender of Albuquerque, N.M., and Warren Neiswender of Mesa, Ariz.; and by a brother, Mike Palmiter of Bedford, Ind.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and by a sister, Marie Ann Goldberg, who died in 1983.
Mrs. Comegys attended IUSB and Ivy Tech. She was employed by the Bendix Corporation in the accounting department, and retired in 1982 after 20 years of service in the aerospace division.
There will be no visitation. A memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday in the Little Flower Catholic Church. Burial will be at a later date at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, Ind.
