KOONTZ LAKE - Robert "Robbie" Compton, Jr., 7, of 7733 N. Meadow Lane, Koontz Lake, Ind., passed away on Tuesday evening, March 30, at Saint Joseph's Regional Medical Center, Plymouth, Ind., from injuries received after being struck by a car on Iroquois Street at Koontz Lake. Robbie was born on Jan. 4, 1992, in South Bend, Ind., to Robert and Liz Compton. He is survived by his father, Robert Compton of Koontz Lake; his mother, Liz Compton of Tyner, Ind.; two sisters, Bobbie DeFranco of Culver, Ind., and Nikki DeFranco of Grovertown, Ind.; and by a brother, Michael DeFranco, III, of Grovertown. Robby was a first-grade student at Oregon-Davis Elementary, was involved in the basketball and swimming programs at school, and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. (EST) on Saturday at the Rannells Funeral Home, Koontz Lake Chapel, with Rev. Donald Nunemaker officiating. Burial will be in the Grovertown Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. today, and from 9 a.m. until the time of services on Saturday at the funeral home.
