SOUTH BEND - J. Edwin Conboy, 89, of
East Pokagon Street, died at 3:55 p.m. Saturday in Regency Place
of natural causes. Mr. Conboy retired from the Indiana Department
of Corrections in 1972 as a parole officer. He was born Nov. 16,
1904, in Alexandria, Ind., and moved to South Bend in 1925 from
Alexandria.
Surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Conboy was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and Elks
Lodge 235. He received the Indiana Sagamore of the Wabash Award.
He was a Navy veteran of World War II.
McGann Funeral Home, 2313 E. Edison Road, is
in charge of arrangements.
SOUTH BEND - Services for J. Edwin Conboy,
89, of East Pokagon Street, who died at 3:55 p.m. Saturday in
Regency Place, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Patrick's
Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial
Park, Granger. Friends may call from 9 to 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in
McGann Funeral Home, 2313 E. Edison Road. Memorial contributions
may be made to the church.
