James C. Cone

July 24, 1914 - Jan. 8, 2000

James C. "Jim" Cone, 85, of Canard Road, Melbourne, Fla., formerly of Mishawaka, Ind., passed away after an illness at 2:50 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 8, in the Beverly Oaks Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Melbourne.

Mr. Cone was born on July 24, 1914, in Mishawaka, as the son of the late Calvin and Laura (Kelly) Cone. Mr. Cone was also preceded in death by his wife, Romaine Cone, on Jan. 10, 1999; and by a sister, Helen Beutter.

Mr. Cone is survived by two daughters, Carolyn (Larry) Drover and Judy Kroll, both of Osceola, Ind.; two stepdaughters, Maggie Chesnick of Melbourne and Ernestine Cowie of Dawsonvile, Ga.; four grandchildren, Jill Kroll-Balser, James Kroll, Jeanine Drover and Bonnie Greffet; three great-grandchildren, Jason Balser, Sarah Balser and Joshua Balser; a sister, Janice Feeger of Buffalo, Wy.; and by several nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 17th, in the Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka, with Rev. Kent Burreson officiating.

In lieu of flowers, his family requests contributions in memory of Mr. Cone be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County, Inc., 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN 46637-3437.
