SOUTH BEND - Mary A (Bosch) Cones, San Mateo, FL, passed away at 101 on December 2, 2008, in Roberts Hospice Care Center, Palatka, FL. Her residence had been the Moultree Nursing Home in St. Augustine, FL. She was born on July 13, 1907. Formerly of South Bend, IN, she came to Florida from Mishawaka, IN, and after her retirement made her home with husband, Carl, on their farm in Granger. Mary was born in Lendva Ujfala, Zala County, Zalaovo, Hungary, and immigrated through Ellis Island, NY, arriving on 14 May 1910 at the age of two. She attended Laurel and Oliver Schools, South Bend. Mary became a citizen on November 25, 1925, and was very happy and proud when she was issued the Certificate of Citizenship by the U.S. Immigration Service on June 6th, 2008. Mary attended Mass at Saint Anthony de Padua Church, Ironwood and Jefferson, and was a member of the Circle of Mercy. She was a member of Saint Monica Catholic Church, Palatka, FL. She was preceded in death by her father, Ignatz Bacsi Bosch; mother, Mary (Peters) Bosch; grandparents, Michael and Anna Peters; uncle, Steve, and aunt, Anna Peters; husband, Carl Cones; stepdaughter, Caryl Lindley; brothers, Joe, Steve, Mike, John and Frank Bosch; and sisters, Rose Saltess and Elsie Hoffman. Surviving are stepson-in-law, Jack Lindley, San Mateo, FL; sisters, Irene Florek and Ann Garris of Lynch, Kentucky; a brother, Bill Bosch of Land O' Lakes, FL; and sisters-in-law, Lillian, Morristown, Tennessee, and Bernice of Hammond, IN. Many step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces, and she loved all her cousins from the Peters and Resner families, and enjoyed her many friends at Cambridge Square. Mary was an avid canasta player and she was always there with a helping hand. Mary always requested Audra to sing "I'm Proud to be a Coal Miners Daughter." She was a Notre Dame football fan. Mary was a longtime employee of Ball Band/Uniroyal where she retired after long and faithful service. She enjoyed visiting and socializing with the Uniroyal retirees. Interment was in the family area at Saint Joseph Valley Memorial Park, 375 Cleveland Road, Granger, IN. Johnson-Overturf Funeral Home, Palatka, FL, was in charge of arrangements. Mary's family expresses our heartfelt thanks to the employees at Moultrie Assisted Living and the Moultrie Nursing Home, St. Augustine, FL, for their kindness and care. The 100th birthday party was awesome thanks to cousins, Dorothy DiGann and Dawn Lucas. Memorial donations may be made to Roberts Hospice Care Center, 6400 St. Johns Ave., Palatka, FL 32177; or to the charity of your choice.
