John T. Conners

July 31, 1875 – December 25, 1961

JohnT. (Buck) Conners, 86, of Rt 4, Indian Lake, formerly of South Bend, died at 5:45am Monday in Cass County Hospital, Berrien Center.  Ill for several months, he was hospitalized five weeks. 

From 1903 through 1905, Conners played baseball with the Three I League, and after that time he played for the Studebaker Corp baseball team.  He was a member of Silvercreek Catholic Church.

He was born in Petrolia ONT., on July 3, 1875.  He lived in South Bend from 1900 to 1941, at which time he moved to Indian Lake.  He was married to Rosa Belle Wells in South Bend on July 19, 1905.  Surviving besides his widow are two sons, John, South Bend, and Jack B. Arcadia CA; four grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Funeral services will be at 10am Thursday at the Kiger & Halbritter Funeral Home, Dowagiac, with Rev. Cletus M. Rose, pastor of St Mary’s Catholic Church, Niles, officiating.  Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, South Bend.
