Sister M. Eugene Connor CSC

Sister M. Eugene (Eugenia C. Connor), CSC, 93, was born in Los Angeles, Calif., to the late Hugh James and Eva U. Childs Connor. She is survived by nephew, David Anderson, Hawaii; and cousins, Helena Muzzy, Mary Conners, and Laura Martin, all of California. Sister M. Eugene received her early education at Saint Agnes' School, Saint Paul's School and Catholic Girls' High School, Los Angeles, Calif. She attended Mount Saint Mary's College and received her Bachelor of Arts, major Piano, in 1954 and, in 1957, continued at Mount Saint Mary's College receiving her Masters of Music, major Piano and minor School Music.

 

Sister entered the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross in 1932, made her first profession in 1935 and final profession in 1938. From 1935 to 1974, she taught music in the elementary and high schools of the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross in Idaho, Utah, Nevada, and California. From 1974, Sister worked as an office assistant and driver until she retired to Saint Catherine by the Sea, Ventura, Calif., where she participated in volunteer service to the Community and was active in the Ministry of Prayer. She came to Saint Mary's Convent in 2001 and was part of the Ministry of Prayer until her death. Wake Service: Tuesday, Nov. 30, at 4 p.m., Church of Our Lady of Loretto, Saint Mary's, Notre Dame, Ind. Funeral service: Wednesday, Dec. 1, 10:30 a.m., Church of Our Lady of Loretto, Saint Mary's, Notre Dame, Ind. Kaniewski Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
