South Bend Tribune 1/24/1956

A requiem high mass will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday, for Sister Mary Cenacle CSC, of the Sisters of the Holy Cross, who died Monday evening after a prolonged illness. The mass will be held at Saint Mary’s Convent Chapel followed by burial in the Community Cemetery. Friends may call in the Novitiate parlor.

She was born Mary Elizabeth Corbett in 1872 in Chicago, and was educated in Annunciation parish in Chicago, and also attended Northwestern Business College. She devoted many years working at secretarial duties in various positions in Chicago before her entry into the Congregation of the Holy Cross in 1923. She received the habit of the Congregation the same year and took her profession of vows in 1928. During her community life she had been stationed in the Western Province and of late years was on duty at the Motherhouse at St. Mary’s until illness forced her retirement a few years ago.
