SOUTH BEND - Florence I. Corle, 83,
of Cleveland Road, died at 8:21 p.m. Wednesday in St. Joseph's
Medical Center of natural causes. Mrs. Corle retired from South
Bend Community School Corp. as a cook at Swanson Elementary
School. She was born Nov. 21, 1910, in South Bend, and was a
lifelong area resident.
On Aug. 14, 1929, in South Bend, as Florence
I. Williams, she married Samuel D. Corle. He died Aug. 2,
1993. She is survived by a daughter, Phyllis White of
Mishawaka; four grandchildren; three great-grandsons; three
sisters, Betty Weishaar of Titusville, Fla., Jane Johnston
of South Bend and Patricia Gadetke of St. Charles, Ill.;
and a brother, William Newman of Coldwater, Mich. A
daughter, Nancy Holm, died in 1984.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in
Welsheimer Funeral Home North, 17033 Cleveland Road. Burial will
be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger. Friends may call
from 4 to 8 p.m. today in the funeral home.
