SOUTH BEND - Catherine Louise Corpe, 74, of South Bend,
died Thursday evening, July 24, 2008, in Saint Joseph Regional
Medical Center following an illness. Mrs. Corpe was born December
24, 1933, in LaPorte, IN, to the late Dorman and Waneta (Bromley)
Wolff, and had lived in the South Bend area most of her
life. On September 2, 1951, in Lydick, IN, as Catherine L. Wolff,
she married Edwin H. Corpe Jr., who survives. Also surviving are
two daughters, Cathy Rupp of South Bend and Lori (James) Willis
of Mt. Holly, AR; two sons, Edwin H. (Shawn) Corpe III and
Gregory Corpe, both of South Bend; 13 grandchildren and 11
great-grandchildren; one sister, Meriem Letherman of South Bend;
and two brothers, Dorman (Patricia) Wolff Jr. of Winamac, IN, and
John Wolff of Kennewick, WA. Mrs. Corpe was employed as the
administrative assistant at Lydick United Methodist Church from
1965 to 1988 and was also a lifetime member of the church. She
formerly served as a leader of the Girl Scouts of Singing Sands
and the St. Joseph County 4-H. She loved to bowl and was a member
of the Ma and Pa Bowling League.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m.
Monday, July 28th, in Lydick United Methodist Church, with Rev.
Jennifer Johns-Gooding officiating. Burial will follow at
Highland Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. today, July
27th, in the Welsheimer Family Funeral Home North, 17033
Cleveland Road. Memorial contributions may be made to Lydick
