SOUTH BEND - Marie A. Cory, 93, of South Bend, IN passed
away at 2:50 a.m. Wednesday, June 4, 2008, at Regency Place,
South Bend. She was born on April 30, 1915, in Michigan City, IN
to Carl A. Wilke and Eva (Whitesell) Wilke-Suddarth
and was a lifelong resident of Elkhart and South Bend.
On September 9, 1939, in Goshen, IN she
married Merritt Cory, who preceded her in death on January 15,
1994. Mrs. Cory is survived by her close relative and caretaker,
Phyllis Schuelke of Edwardsburg, MI; one son, Merritt D.
Cory Jr. of Marion, IN; four grandchildren; and her brother, John
Suddarth of South Bend. Her son, David Cory; two sisters, Bernice
Banner and Katherine Freidline; and two brothers,
Ernest and Theodore Suddarth all preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m.
Saturday, June 7, 2008, at Palmer Funeral Home-River Park, 2528
Mishawaka Ave., South Bend. Graveside services and burial will
follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola, IN. Friends may
visit with the family from 9:00 a.m. until time of services on
Saturday in the funeral home. Contributions in memory of Marie A.
