Paul C. Costello

May 4, 1940 - Jan. 10, 2002

On January 10, 2002, Paul Costello, 61, residing on Angela Blvd., saw the face of God.

 

He was born May 4, in 1940, as the son of Joseph P. Costello, who preceded him in death, and Alice E. Costello of South Bend who survived him.

 

He was born in South Bend and he and his family lived in the State of Washington for eight years. He is survived by his wife, Esther Costello (Milner) of South Bend, whom he married at Our Lady of Hungary Catholic Church in 1963.

 

Paul was a loving father to Gina of Spokane, WA, Rebecca MacDonald wed to John of Mishawaka, Kathleen Crimmins wed to Joseph of South Bend, Amy Costello of Chicago, IL, fiancé Peter, Laura Costello of Seattle, WA, Paul Joe of South Bend and Ken Costello of Indianapolis.

 

His brother Ralph Costello of South Bend married to Julie and sister Toni Slabaugh of South Bend also survive him.

 

Paul left cherished memories with his eight grandchildren, Joshua, Mary, Leah, Alysee, Megan, Jacob, Joseph and Nicholas.

 

He served in the United States Army and played varsity football while attending Ricks Junior College in Rexburg, ID, Colorado State and Indiana State. Paul worked in sales for Electrolux, organized forms for the St. Joe County Clerk, and was a substitute teacher for South Bend and Mishawaka Public Schools.

 

Paul was a parishioner at Little Flower Catholic Church and was a beloved member of the choir especially known for his tender and soulful voice.

 

Friends may visit his family at the wake held at Little Flower Catholic Church on Sunday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A funeral Mass will be said in his memory on Monday at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions to St. Joe County Hospice and Little Flower Parish are appreciated.

 

His dedication to his wife, family and friends, leaves those who loved him joyful for his life, pained by his death, and certain he is with Our Lord.
