Marie L. Couvreur

Marie L. Heminger Couvreur, 85, of Dawes Place, Mishawaka, passed away on Friday, September 22, 2000, in her home. Marie was born on April 12, 1915, in Mishawaka, as the daughter of the late Frank and Mary E. (Meixel) Wiley. She was a lifetime area resident.

 

On September 20, 1934, in Mishawaka, she married John Heminger. He passed away on March 14, 1981. Then, on November 29, 1986, in South Bend, she remarried to Remi Couvreur. He passed away on December 3, 1991. She is also preceded in death by one sister, Gladys Sprague; and two brothers, Clyde and Lloyde Wiley. Mrs. Couvreur is survived by one daughter, Janet (Erwin) Tobolski of Michigan City; one stepdaughter, Barbara (William) Carlson of South Bend; one stepson, Thomas (Kathy) Couvreur of Columbus, OH; 9 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Couvreur was employed by Robertson's in South Bend for 10 years before retiring in 1967. She was a member of the 1st United Methodist Church, Mishawaka, A.A.R.P., and was a volunteer worker for the Budget Corner.

 

Visitation will be on Monday, September 25, 2000, from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. in Hahn Funeral Home, 505 West 8th Street, Mishawaka. Funeral services will be on Tuesday, September 26, 2000, at 10:00 A.M. in Hahn Funeral Home, with Rev. Gary Scott officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola, IN. Memorial contributions in memory of Mrs. Couvreur may be made to the 1st United Methodist Church, 201 E. Third St., Mishawaka; or to the Scholarship Fund at Mishawaka High School, Class of 1933.
