Richard Craig

Richard Craig, 79, of Pulling Street, South Bend, Ind., passed away at 6:26 a.m. on Wednesday, June 12, in the Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, South Bend. Richard was born Feb. 27, 1923, to the late Carl and Edith (Walton) Craig. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Donald, Harold and Jesse Craig.

 

On Dec. 1, 1973, Richard married Winifred Rinehardt (Will). Richard is survived by his wife, Winifred (Will) Craig of South Bend; his sons, Carl (Colleen) Craig of Fort Mills, S.C., David (Nancy) Craig of Broken Arrow, Okla., James Craig of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Ronald (Helen) Cooke of Erie, Pa.; his daughters, W. Joyce Craig of North Liberty, Ind., and Lois Shields of Duluth, Minn.; his sisters, Helen Craig of Erie, Mildred Davis of Fairview, Pa., and Myrtle Sanford of Wisconsin; his brother, Robert (Betty) Craig of New Castle, Pa.; his 10 grandchildren, Pam Johnson, Sonya Bias, Donna LaTour, Debbie Hernandez, Ronald LaTour, Danny LaTour, Eric Craig, Kelly Grahl, Kym Gundrum and Todd Brocious; and by his seven great-grandchildren, Kristopher Gundrum, Korey Gundrum, Chad Brocious, Holly Brocious, Sarah Hernandez, Rebecca Hernandez and Braddly Grahl.

 

Richard served in the United States Army during World War II. He was a member of Teamster's Union Chapter 364. Retiring February 28 1983, from Commercial Motor Freight of Indiana.

 

Visitation for Richard was from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday in the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan Street. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on today, June 15, in the funeral home, with Rev. Ed Erskin officiating. Burial will be at Southlawn Cemetery.
