Diane Dudley-Crane

May 16, 1941 - Feb. 14, 2000

Diane Dudley-Crane, 58 of Litchfield, Ill, died in Heritage Manor Nursing Home, Litchfield, on Monday, Feb. 14.

She was born on May 16, 1941 in East Chicago, Ind., the daughter of Leslie and Lissa Driscoll Doty. She married Franklin Boyd Dudley in 1957. She later married Richard Thomas Crane Jr., in 1999.

Mrs. Dudley-Crane worked as an advertising director for several department stores including Max Alder's in South Bend, Ind., Schradzki's in Peoria, Ill, and Myers Brothers' in Springfield, Ohio. She opened her own advertising studio in the 1970s.

In 1976, she joined the Illinois Office of Business and Economic Development Communications Division and produced the monthly magazine, Illinois Horizons, as well as an in-house monthly newsletter.

In November 1976, she accepted the position of editor of Henrich's Publications in Litchfield. In 1985 she opened Yesterday's Market and Chicken Coops Antique Mall in Litchfield, operating the business until 1999.

She is survived by a son, Christopher Lincoln (wife, Joi Cox) Dudley of Lenoir City, Tenn.; a daughter, Dayna Dudley (husband, Randy) Youts of South Bend; two granddaughters; a sister, Patricia Doty Peterson of San Diego, Calif.; and a brother, David E. Doty of Chicago, Ill.

Memorial services will be at 7 p.m. today, Feb. 19, in Meinschein Funeral Home, in Litchfield, the Rev. Jay Johnson officiating.
