SOUTH BEND - Martha L. Crawley, 88, died Saturday, April
19, 2008, in Miller's Merry Manor, Walkerton, IN. She was born
August 20, 1919, in Sweetser, IN, as the daughter of Gilbert Roy
and Nancy Jane (Dougherty) Ancil. Preceding Martha
in death were her parents, six sisters, two brothers and a
grandson.
On June 23, 1940, in Marion, IN, she married
Francis E. Crawley, who passed away on December 13, 1981.
Surviving are a daughter, Myrna (Jerry) Freeman of South
Bend; three sons, Jerry (Kathy) of Elkhart, Jay (Wanda) and Cary
(Cathy), both of South Bend; 10 grandchildren, Dawn, Debbie, Jay,
Kim, Scott, Kevin, Todd, Becky, Natalie and Adam; 11
great-grandchildren; and a sister, Midge McDaniel of
Chicago. Martha was active in scouting for many years. She played
in a Euchre club and enjoyed the traveling that she and her
husband used to do together. She carried the fond memories of
those travels with her always. She was a loving, caring mother,
grandmother, sister and friend. Martha will truly be missed by
all who knew and loved her. The family would like to give a
special heartfelt Thank You to the wonderful staff at
Miller's Merry Manor.
Visitation will be today from 2 to 4 and 6
to 8 p.m. in the Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th St., Mishawaka,
where funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m., with
Rev. Mark Kloess officiating. Burial will be at Southlawn
Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of one's
choice.
