SOUTH BEND – Mrs. Marie Cressy, 71, of 5119 Rowantree Place, died at 11:40 a.m. Tuesday in St. Joseph Hospital after an extended illness. She was born on Dec. 5, 1889 in Rochester, Ind. and had resided here for 57 years.

 

She married Sid Cressy in 1913 here. He died in 1960. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Clement Miller and Mrs. Eugene Hill Jr. both of South Bend, and Mrs. Robert Firth of Long Island N Y.; three sons, George S. of Mishawaka, Clifford E. of Highland, Ind., and James C. of Roodhouse, Ill.; a brother, Walter Pearson of Sunnyvale, Calif., and a sister, Mrs. Ernest Hayworth of South Bend.

 

Friends may call in the Walsh-Bilincio Colonial Chapel after 7 p.m. today. Services will be 10 a.m. Friday in Holy Family Catholic Church, with Rev. Joseph G. Lesniak, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery. The rosary will be recited at 8:15 p.m. today in the funeral home.

 

Editor: Her maiden name was Marie E. Pearson, and she married Sidney Alexander Cressy on 9-17-1913 in St. Joseph County.
