SOUTH BEND – Mrs. Sarah M. Cressy, 75, of 1127 N. St. Peter Street, died at 9:45 o’clock this morning in her residence after a lingering illness. She was born June,15, 1857 in Yorkshire, England, and came her 45 years ago.

 

She was married in England Oct. 19, 1881 to Thornton W. Cressy, who died in 1931.Surviving are four sons, Thornton of Detroit, and Clement, Sidney A. and Ralph J., all of South Bend; and four sisters, Sister M. Christeta of Chicago, Miss Fredice L. Cressy, Mrs. Marion Starkworther and Mrs. C. H. Fuller, all of this city. The body will lie in the residence.

Last rites for Sarah M. Cressy will take place at 9 o’clock Monday morning at St. Joseph Romas Catholic Church. Rev. J. J. O’Rourke CSC, pastor, will read the mass and burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery. Mrs. Cressy leaves two daughters, Miss Fredice L. Cressy and Sister M. Christeta, and two sisters, Mrs. Marion Starkweather and Mrs. G. H. Fuller of this city.
