She was born Catherine Crimmins in Ireland in May, 1864, and came to this country as a child. She received the holy habit at St. Mary’s in 1895 and then was sent to Columbus, Ohio, where she served the order until 1908. Returning here she became a member of the nursing staff of St. Joseph Hospital where she served until 1913. She then was made superior of St. John’s Hospital in Anderson, Ind., and then in 1920 went to Jacksonville, Ill., where she served as a nurse until 1925. In that year she was transferred to the University of Notre Dame where until 1936 she was in charge of the student infirmary. Since that time she has been at St. Mary’s. She was stricken two weeks ago with what appeared to be a cerebral hemorrhage.
