Sister Mary Compassion Cullen CSC

Sister Mary Compassion CSC, whose worldly name was Miss Teresa Cullen, is dead at Convent of the Holy Cross at Notre Dame. She has always been a teacher at Notre Dame teaching in St. Edward’s Hall, the minim quarters until the close of school last fall. For the past year she had been ill with a complication of diseases, and was unable to resume work with the opening of school in the fall. She was 51, having been born in Nova Scotia in 1862.She entered the community in 1883, receiving the habit in 1884. Her final profession was made in 1885. Death came yesterday afternoon.

 

The funeral will be at 8 a.m. tomorrow from the convent chapel, and burial will be in the community cemetery at St. Mary’s.
