LaFawn Cunningham, 91, of the Carmel Care Center, formerly of Mishawaka, Ind., died on Wednesday, March 22, in the center. Mrs. Cunningham was born on Sept. 17, 1908, in Moravia, Iowa, to Luella and Lewis C. Main, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jasper N.; a son, J. Michael Cunningham; two sisters; and by a half brother and a half sister.

 

She is survived by a daughter, Mary L. Howey of Indianapolis, Ind.; and by six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She had been employed as a housemother of the Holy Cross School of Nursing, South Bend, and was a homemaker for many years. She was a member of Willow Creek United Methodist Church of Mishawaka, United Methodist Church Women, and the Order of Eastern Star, Mishawaka.

 

Services will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday in There will be no visitation. The Leppert & Hensley Mortuary, Smith Carmel Chapel, Carmel, is handling arrangements in the chapel at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, Ind.
