Marion E. (Stouffer) Currier, 89, residing on Creekwater Lane, South Bend, Ind., died at 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 4, in her residence.

Mrs. Currier was born on Nov. 24, 1910, in Milford, Ind., to the late George Earl and Meta L. (Signor) Stouffer, and had lived in the South Bend community most of her life, except for about 30 years that she resided in California. She returned to South Bend in 1994. She was also preceded in death by a brother, David S. Stouffer in 1988; and by a niece, Joann Baumgartner in 1989. On Aug. 5, 1994, in South Bend, as Marion Stouffer, she married Donald C. Currier, who passed away on Feb. 22, 1998.

Mrs. Currier was formerly employed for 18 years as a secretary and assistant to Dr. Alfred Giordano of the South Bend Medical Foundation. When she moved to California she was employed for 12 years with the DuPont Corporation, and retired in 1975 as a secretary for the Remington Company in California. She was a longtime member of the Progress Club, YWCA, and Ladies of the Elks #235 in South Bend.

She is survived by nieces and nephews and their families: a niece, Phyllis and Bill Hamel of South Bend; nephews, Roger Stouffer, John and Sandi Stouffer, Tracy Stouffer and Earl and Ann Baumgartner, all of South Bend, and William and Crista Stouffer of Medina, Ohio; and by 11 great- nieces and nephews, and 19 great-great-nieces and nephews.

Graveside services for Mrs. Currier will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 13, at Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka. Rev. Don R. Francis will officiate. There will be no visitation.
