SOUTH BEND — James T. Cushing, 65, of South Bend, Professor of Physics at the University of Notre Dame, died at 10:30 a.m. Friday in his home. Survivors include his wife, Nimbilasha; daughters Christine Louise and Patricia Anne (spouse Leroy McIntosh Jr.); and uncle Vincent Cushing Sr. (wife Marie).

Services will be held on Wednesday, April 3, at 10:30 a.m. at Clay United Methodist Church, 17646 Cleveland Road, South Bend, Indiana. Family will greet visitors from 10 to 10:30 a.m. prior to the church services which will begin 10:30 a.m. An additional memorial service will be held on April 21 at the University of Notre Dame. Time and place will be announced later. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be sent to the following: Cushing Memorial Prize, c/o Program in History and Philosophy of Science, 346 O'Shaughnessy, University of Notre Dame, Notre Dame, IN 46556
