Norma M. Czerna, 76, of Miller Court, South Bend, died Saturday, May 25, 2002 at 11:41 p.m. at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center.

She was born July 14, 1925 in South Bend, IN. As Norma Ward she married Louis Czerna on February 2, 1946 who preceded her in death on January 10, 1999. Also preceding her in death is one brother; Carl Ward.

She is survived by one daughter; Christine Traxler of South Bend, one son; Dan Czerna of Mishawaka, IN, five grandchildren; Keith, Kelly, Kerry, Erica and Amanda, two great-grandchildren; Haley Rose and Austin, two sisters; Eleanor Kolacz of South Bend, and Delores Call of Mishawaka, IN.

Norma was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Daughters of Isabella and the VFW 9820 Ladies Auxiliary. She retired from RACO after 28 years of services as a press operator.

Family and friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 28, 2002 at the ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road, where there will be a rosary said at 6:30 p.m. Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 29, 2002 at St. Joseph Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Sacred Heart Cemetery, South Bend, IN.
