Sister Mary Genevieve Daley CSC

Sister Mary Genevieve CSC, of St. Mary’s College, died at 5 p.m. Monday at St. Mary’s after an illness of several months. She was born Geneva Daley, the daughter of John and Catherine Daley of Logansport, and entered the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross in 1921. She was professed in 1927. Sister Genevieve taught music in several local schools, including Holy Cross, St. Joseph High School and St. Mary’s Academy. She spent several years at St. Angela, Morris, Ill. as a teacher and six years there as superior of the Academy. She came to St. Mary’s College in 1957. Surviving are two sisters, Sister John Vincent, CSC, of the faculty of St. Joseph High School, and Mrs. E. A. McNamara, of Huntington, Ind.

 

Friends may call in the St. Mary’s Convent today. The requiem high mass will be at 6 a.m. Wednesday and burial will be in the Community Cemetery.
