Jack F. Daly

SOUTH BEND - Jack F. Daly, 69, residing on South 26th Street, South Bend, Ind., passed away at 1:22 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 20, at Memorial Hospital, South Bend. Mr. Daly retired in 1985 from the Bendix Corporation as a machinist after 11 years of service. He was born on July 27, 1929, in Mishawaka, Ind., to the late Vernon M. and Ethel I. (Reed) Daly. Jack had been a lifelong area resident.

 

On April 15, 1972, in Mishawaka, he married Zelda Margaret Boner, who survives. He is also survived by two stepdaughters, Linda Ray of Redding, Calif., and Sue Smith of South Bend; a stepson, Rick Boner of Rocky Mountain, N.C.; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Alberta Barone, Carole I. Daly and Patsy E. Eakins, all of South Bend; a brother, Vernon H. Daly of Bear Lake, Mich.; and by several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert R. Daly. Mr. Daly was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge #59 in South Bend, Fraternal Order of Police, Bendix Local #9, and was a graduate of the former Central High School in South Bend.

 

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 23, at the Palmer Funeral Home, 2528 Mishawaka Avenue, South Bend. Rev. John Railton, pastor of the Timberland Bible Church, will officiate. Burial will follow at the St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park Cemetery, Granger, Ind. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Contributions in memory of Jack F.
